“White periwinkles”


Catharanthus roseus is scientific name of periwinkle. It is also known as Madagascar periwinkle, rosy periwinkle, cape periwinkle, vinca, old maid. In hindi it is called Sadabahar (सदाबहार). It is evergreen subshrub or herb. It has beautiful white and pink five petals flower. Catharanthus roseus is native to the Indian Ocean island of Madagascar. This herb is now common in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, including the southern United States.

It is also used for ornamental purpose. It has medicinal properties too.
